Anraku-ji Temple
安楽寺
A small, exquisite temple along the Philosopher's Path known for its photogenic thatched-roof gate framed by seasonal flowers. Open only during limited periods (spring and autumn). Founded in memory of two monks executed for secretly teaching Pure Land Buddhism.

Best Time to Visit
Late November for autumn maples framing the thatched gate (iconic photo). Late April for cherry blossoms. May-June for azaleas and hydrangeas. Always check schedule as temple is closed most of the year.
