Hidden gem temple on Philosopher's Path with thatched gate and moss-covered grounds. Founded 1680 to honor Buddhist priest Honen. Famous for twin sand mounds (byakusadan) with seasonal patterns. Peaceful atmosphere, fewer tourists. Beautiful autumn colors and spring green moss.
