Large Zen temple complex with 24 sub-temples, though only 4-5 open to public. Founded 1315. Deeply connected to tea ceremony culture - Sen no Rikyu trained here. Famous for beautiful rock gardens, particularly Daisen-in and Ryogen-in. Peaceful atmosphere, fewer tourists.
