Lunch Break
Enjoy lunch near Nanzen-ji area. Try famous yudofu (tofu hot pot) at traditional restaurants.

Massive Zen temple with spectacular autumn colors around the Sanmon gate and famous brick aqueduct. Multiple sub-temples feature stunning maple-filled gardens. Less crowded than Tofukuji and Eikan-do.
Philosopher's Path
The scenic canal path lined with trees displays beautiful autumn colors. Less spectacular than spring cherry blossoms but still lovely for an afternoon stroll.
Evening Illumination
Return to Eikan-do for evening illumination (if booked) or visit other temples offering night viewing. The lit-up maple trees create a magical atmosphere.
